Leyla Ertan '21, Kaitlyn Kollmorgen '20 and Victoria Ryan '20 were first-team picks, while Emily Blackmon '20 was named second team. Alyssa Elias '20 and Caroline Torn '20 earned honorable mention nods. "The men's basketball program at Second Baptist School was young and hungry. Coach Burnis Simon (God Rest his soul) was my High School HC and he is the reason I want to be a high school coach and love what I do. In a survey conducted by the Minnesota State High School League in 2007, it stated the average GPA of a high school athlete was 2.84, while a non-athlete was a 2.68. I am forever grateful for my high school coaches and would not be where I am at today without them. The list goes on and on when it comes to the impact of a high school coach and high school sports. High school is the sports Games, band concerts, choir concerts, theater Performances and all that go into your high school years.

So, it's time to draw a line in the sand to play or not to play. This is Texas, where high schools are woven into the fabric of the culture. Do educators understand the amount of cheating going on with online schooling from elementary school to college? I'm not a doctor, but my vote is to let the kids participate in school and extra-curricular activities. Kids need teachers, coaches and ROLE MODELS more than ever.

Under the direction of Coach Tom Earle, The Woodlands Christian Academy won it's fourth-straight Girl's TAPPS Cross Country Title and third-consecutive Boy's Title in late October in Waco. Ellie Catron won her third-straight individual title and Lindsay Worthington took fourth. Fern Shirley was sixth, Isabella Krantzke was 16th and Ellie Johnson rounded out the top five for the Warriors. Ben Shearer finished first overall on the boys' side, demolishing the competition. Can the Warriors keep the tradition going as they move up to Class 5A TAPPS competition?
