PORTER, Texas – A manhunt has ended after three adults and a 9-year-old child were stabbed. Authorities said 36-year-old Nathan Carlin, who is believed to have been involved in the stabbing in the area of East Heritage Oaks Drive and Timber Oaks Lane, turned himself in. Deputies said Carlin got into an argument with some of the victims and began stabbing them. Carlin was described as barefoot, 6′1″ tall, 190 pounds and wearing a green and blue shirt. All of the victims were taken to various hospitals for treatment and are listed in serious but stable condition, officials said.

PORTER, Texas – Three people, including a toddler, were hospitalized after an outdoor kitchen explosion at a home in Montgomery County Monday afternoon, according to the Porter Fire Department. The explosion was reported at 5:35 p.m. in the backyard of a home in the 19300 block of Riverwalk in the Riverwalk Subdivision in Porter. Officials said a 46-year-old woman, a 16-year-old girl and a 16-month old toddler were all burned in the explosion and taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. Firefighters said the home was not damaged by the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.

HOUSTON – A three-year-old boy died after he accidentally shot himself in the chest Saturday afternoon during a child’s birthday party in Porter, according to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to the call around 4:15 p.m. to a call on the 23000 block of Owens Road. Family and friends at the party said they gathered to celebrate a child’s birthday, according to deputies. The child was found with a gunshot wound to the chest, deputies said. The child was rushed to a nearby fire station, where he was pronounced dead.

HOUSTON – Four firefighters from Porter have returned home after spending more than three weeks battling wildfires in California. Brandon Shafer, Joseph Sullivan, Ryan Johnson and Stephen Sever arrived at George Bush Intercontinental Airport just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday. The crew worked on multiple fires in California, mainly trying to stop them from spreading further. The firefighters initially drove out west, which took about two days, and quickly got to work. PORTER, Texas – A teacher with the New Caney Independent School District resigned after she was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student, officials said. Rhiannon Petty, 41, faces an improper relation between educator and student charge. New Caney ISD said Petty was employed with the district for four years and was placed on administrative leave while the investigation was pending but she later resigned. In a statement, New Caney ISD said it that student safety was the district’s top priority. “The district is fully cooperating with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office and cannot comment further as this is an active investigation,” district officials wrote.
