LOS ANGELES The brazen humor of The Ren & Stimpy Show will be revisited in a new Comedy Central version of the animated series. The original program that was a hit for Nickelodeon will be reimagined in partnership with Nickelodeon Animation Studio, Comedy Central said Wednesday. Ren, a psychologically challenged Chihuahua, and Stimpy, less intelligent than your average cat, were created by John Kricfalusi and debuted on Nickelodon in 1991. The Ren & Stimpy Show drew criticism from observers who deemed it unsuitable for children, citing its crass jokes and sexual innuendo. On Comedy Central, the show will join other adult-animation series including South Park and a revamped version of Beavis and Butt-Head, the channel said.

On Tuesday, Nickelodeon announced that it has inked a multi-platform deal with Fulwell 73, the production company headed up by Ben Winston and the 41-year-old Late Late Show host. Corden and Winston will produce both an animated movie and an animated TV series based off of the children's book Real Pigeons Fight Crime, which was first published in 2018. Written by Andrew McDonald and illustrated by Ben Wood, Real Pigeons Fight Crime reveals the secret life of crime-busting pigeons who set out to keep a town safe. "Real Pigeons Fight Crime is about a secret squad of crime-fighting pigeons, with high stakes and true hilarity making it a perfect fit for our audience," added Ramsey Naito, Executive Vice President of Nickelodeon Animation Production and Development. The long-running Nickelodeon news program is hitting the airwaves once more with a new special, hosted by Alicia Keys, dealing with the protests and social movements sweeping the nation. PAW Patrol is about a squad of dog rescuers, who believe no job is too big, no pup is too small, and work together to protect the community. Paw Patrol needs to be cancelled from television ASAP. In response to the tweet by the PAW Patrol account, one person wrote euthanize the police dog, while another wrote, all dogs go to Heaven, except the class traitors in the Paw Patrol." Nickelodeon has not responded to comments calling for the dismissal of the shows cop character or online request to cancel PAW Patrol entirely.
